Meet Tomer Rozen, composer of Comedy, which you can hear at our concert this Saturday at 3:00 PM! Tomer Rozen (born 1999) is a Boston-based composer of opera and concert music. He holds an MM in composition from the New England Conservatory where he studied with Michael Gandolfi and Sid Richardson (recipient of the Donald Martino Award, winner of the orchestral composition contest). Recent premiers: "Piano Competition" – an operatic parody on classical music making, "Nausea" – an operatic scene adopted from Sartre (libretto by Karly Hou), "Orchestral Overture" – NEC Symphony, "Rondo for Piano and Orchestra" – Sounds in the Desert Festival, "Circus Pieces" – Atlantic Music Festival. Tomer served as the harpsichordist for NEC's baroque ensemble, and performs regularly with the Klezmer fusion group Itay Dayan and his Band. Meet Yuseok Seol, who will be playing Germaine Tailleferre's Piano Concerto this Saturday at 3:00 PM! Yuseok Seol is a pianist and composer from South Korea. With a passion for contemporary classical music, he recently earned his Master of Music in Contemporary Classical Music Performance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee under Stephen Drury. Yuseok has performed widely as both a soloist and chamber musician, often exploring lesser-known repertoire and collaborating with composers on new premieres. As a composer, his music also performed in various venues by different ensembles such as Ensemble Dal Niente, VIPA Ensemble, WET INK, and KNUA Orchestra. He is a founding member of Ensemble CLINK, a South Korean group dedicated to creating engaging performances that connect with audiences in fresh ways.
